Daylight Savings Mobile Update
With the passage of the Energy Policy Act of 2005, the United States government has established changes to the duration of Daylight Saving Time (DST). Beginning in 2007, DST will now remain in effect each year between the second Sunday of March until the first Sunday of November. So it starts sooner and ends later than it used to.
While this change primarily impacts the United States and Canada, it also impacts any users who interact with or send calendar invitations or who are dependent upon date/time calculations with companies and persons within the United States or Canada.
The Cincinnati Bell Wireless network will seamlessly support the change to DST. While most customers’ devices will experience no impact, customers with BlackBerry devices and most PDAs/smartphones running Palm OS or Windows Mobile may be required to update or patch their devices.
In addition to updating their devices, customers are also encouraged to check with any third-party software providers, as the DST time changes may impact:
- Calendars/Scheduling
- Date and/or Time Calculations
- Transaction Logging
