With regard to physical facilities, does FUSE have back-up power or UPS (uninterruptable power supply)?

The FUSE platform is backed up by battery back-up equipment and jet turbine generators located at the Cincinnati Bell downtown Central Office. What is Ethernet? FUSE Ethernet Internet Service combines a flexible means of connecting to the Internet with the simplicity of a physical Ethernet interface. Bandwidth for this service is available on an incremental basis. If you already have an existing LAN Advantage port that is used in part for Internet access, you may not need additional equipment. Likewise, if you have a spare Ethernet port on your existing router that you would like to use for Internet access only, additional equipment may not be required. Ethernet bandwidth is available at speeds ranging from 1 - 155 Mbps.

What is an IP address?

An IP address is a set of four "octets" or 8-bit numbers from 0 to 255, separated by periods that define a unique computer on the Internet. The customer will always be asked how many IP addresses they require. IP addresses are not automatically allocated to the customer. The reason for this is that FUSE's compliance and courtesy to conform to IETF's (International Engineering Task Force) and InterNIC's rules for worldwide IP space allocation. IP addresses are limited resources.

Who configures the router?

FUSE will configure the router for you if you choose the option for FUSE-provided equipment. If you currently own or purchase the equipment separately, FUSE will assist you with the configuration per FUSE's standard terms for installation support.
