What is Autopay?

Autopay is a convenient automatic payment service from Cincinnati Bell. With Autopay, you can pay your Cincinnati Bell bill automatically each month without writing a check. Each month, your account balance is paid automatically from your checking account with our secure process. Imagine, no checks to write, no late payments, no stamps to purchase or trips to the post office. Autopay adds convenience and worry-free bill payment giving you time to do other things that are more important.

In addition to secure automatic payments, you can pair Autopay with eBill and go totally paperless! Cincinnati Bell's Autopay is the perfect complement to eBill - allowing you to get your monthly statement emailed directly to the email account of your choice. You'll have the ability to view your statement at your leisure and rest assured that your payment is made automatically, on time each month. Autopay and eBill will help you add simplicity and peace of mind that your Cincinnati Bell bill is paid on time each month.

How does Autopay work?

Autopay is simple. Each month on your due date, Cincinnati Bell will automatically withdraw your amount due from the checking account of your choice. The transaction is simple, free and most of all, it's secure. You can even set limits to the amount that is withdrawn from your account. With Autopay, you'll save time - no more checks to write, and save money - no more stamps to purchase. You'll never have to worry about a late payment fee or make a special trip to the post office to mail your Cincinnati Bell bill again.

When is my payment taken out of my account?

Each month, your automatic payment for the amount due will be withdrawn from the checking account of your choice on the Due Date on your statement. We won't take the payment out early! Your payment is made instantly on the exact date your payment is due. You keep your money in your checking account longer, but know that your payment is always received on time!

How will I be notified when the Autopay payment has been made?

We understand how cluttered your email account can become. With that in mind, we won't add to your inbox clutter by sending you emails telling you that your Autopay payment has been made. Instead we offer you the ability to check your account information at your convenience! All account details are available to you online 7 days a week, 24 hours a day within your Cincinnati Bell My Account. Check your statement and payment history when you want, without email to sift through. You can even view or print your account and payment history for the last 90 days.

Can I change the payment dates?

One of the benefits of Autopay is that your Cincinnati Bell bill is paid exactly on the Due Date on your statement. Your payment is on time each month which means no late fees. For that reason, you can't change the date your payment is made. Rest assured that your Cincinnati Bell bill is paid exactly on time each month.

I want to go completely paperless, no bill in the mail and no checks to write. Does Autopay take care of all of this?

Autopay alone can't make you completely paperless. While your bill will be paid automatically each month with Autopay, you will still receive your paper Cincinnati Bell bill in the mail each month. However, if you would like to go paperless and view your Cincinnati Bell bill electronically each month, simply sign up for eBill. It's another convenient and free service from Cincinnati Bell. Autopay and eBill - The perfect pair! With eBill, your bill is emailed to the email account of your choice and with Autopay, your bill is paid automatically from the checking account of your choice. If I make changes to my Autopay settings, when will those changes take affect?

If you make changes to your Autopay settings, your changes will take affect for the billing cycle immediately following the current one. For example, if you change bank accounts and you enter your changes in January, your new information will take affect for the February cycle. January will continue to debit your original account and February will debit your new account.

Is Autopay Secure?

Absolutely. Cincinnati Bell knows how important security is to our customers. That's why we use 128 bit encryption to ensure that all of your online transactions are safe and secure.

Can I see the amount paid to my account?

Yes! All account details are available to you online 7 days a week, 24 hours a day within your Cincinnati Bell My Account. Check your statement and payment history whenever you want. In addition, you can view or print your bill summary for 18 months and see up to 90 days of payment history.

What if an incorrect amount is paid?

Autopay will automatically debit your checking account for the total amount due on your Cincinnati Bell statement. If you feel this amount is in error, please contact Customer Care at 513-565-2210.

Can I use a Credit Card with Autopay?

At this time, Autopay is not available for credit card payments. All Autopay payments are debited to the checking account of your choice via our secure online system.

I get several bills from Cincinnati Bell, can I use Autopay for all of them?

You can pay all of your Cincinnati Bell telephone bills online using Autopay. Why not combine all of your bills into one convenient bill to use with Autopay? Setting up Combined Billing is simple. Contact a Cincinnati Bell Customer Care Representative at 513-565-2210 or by email at CBWCustomerCare@Cinbell.com to request combined billing.

What is the Max Amount and how is it used?

The Max Amount is a convenient safeguard for your Autopay account. When you set up Autopay, you will be asked to set the Max Amount to be paid each month on your bill. For instance, if you signed up for our Unlimited Phone Pak for $129.99 per month, you could set your Max Amount to $140.00. That way you know that the maximum amount to be withdrawn from your checking account will never exceed $140.00 each month.

What happens if I don't have enough money in my account to make the Autopay payment?

Insufficient funds are handled in the same manner of an overdraft for a written check. If you do not have an arrangement with your bank to cover any charges made to your account when you have insufficient funds, you will incur a fee from Cincinnati Bell equal to our overdraft charge.

In addition to the returned check fee, you may incur late charges on your account. You will need to make payment arrangements immediately with a Cincinnati Bell Customer service representative at 513-565-2210 to avoid any other charges or service interruption.

How will the Autopay payment appear on my bank statement?

Your Autopay payment will appear on your bank statement each month. Please note that the example below is a sample only, there may be slight variations in how your payment appears on your statement.

What is a Scheduled payment?

Your Scheduled Payment is the total amount due on your Cincinnati Bell statement. This is the amount that is scheduled to be withdrawn from your checking account on the due date.

I have BillPayer 2000. Do I have to convert to Autopay? If so, how?

If you are using BillPayer 2000 to pay your Cincinnati Bell bills, you certainly want to switch to Autopay! In addition to the convenience, Autopay is FREE while BillPayer 2000 charges $0.30 per month for each transaction.

Switching to Autopay is simple. First, you will need to contact BillPayer 2000 at 1-800-991-7771 and request the removal of the payee to Cincinnati Bell Telephone. They will guide you through the steps necessary to stop using BillPayer 2000 to pay your Cincinnati Bell bills. You can still keep using BillPayer 2000 to pay other accounts if you wish.

Once you have cancelled your BillPayer 2000 payment to Cincinnati Bell, simply sign up for Autopay! That's it!.

Can I cancel a payment?

Yes. You do the ability to cancel your Autopay payment all the way up until the Due Date on your bill. When you click on cancel autopay the following will occur:

  • If you have a scheduled payment for the current month that payment will be cancelled unless you attempt to cancel on your due date. If you attempt to cancel your payment on the scheduled due date you will need to contact Customer Care to cancel the payment at 513-565-2210.
  • Future autopayments will be cancelled from your account. Any changes including cancelling future autopayments will take affect for the billing cycle immediately following the current one. The cancellation of future autopayments will not go into effect until the following month's bill cycle.

If you cancel Autopay you will need to mail your payment in full to Cincinnati Bell or pay online in order to avoid late charges. You will also need to sign up for Autopay again to reinstate the automatic payment service.

Will I receive a confirmation if I cancel a payment?

No, if you cancel a payment, you will not receive an email confirmation. You will receive confirmation during the cancellation process. You are welcome and encouraged to print the confirmation page for your records.

Can I cancel my recurring payment?

Yes, you can cancel your recurring autopayment, however the change will not take effect until the following month's bill cycle.

Can I cancel my current month's scheduled payment?

Yes, you can cancel the current month's scheduled payment up to the due date of the scheduled payment.
