Voicemail

To change your ring pattern, pick up your receiver and dial *963. Listen for a second dial tone, then press the number of rings desired followed by the pound sign (#). (Example: For 6 Rings, press 6#) Listen for the stutter dial tone to confirm.

If you have new messages waiting, when you pick up your phone you will hear a stutter dial tone (short, quick tones). If your phone includes a message waiting indicator light, it will be on.

To listen to your voicemail messages:

  1. Dial *966 or *11
  2. Enter your password and press #. If you have purchased Cincinnati Bell’s Per-Line Privacy feature, dial *82 plus the access number to release your number to the voicemail system.

Voicemail main menu:

  • To listen to new messages, press 11
  • To listen to saved messages, press 12
  • To change your greetings, press 43

Follow these easy steps to set up your new Cincinnati Bell voicemail box:

  1. Dial the access number: Greater Cincinnati (OH and IN): 513-554-1234 Greater Cincinnati (KY): 859-392-1234 Greater Dayton, Middletown and Springfield: 937-619-1234
  2. Enter your 10-digit telephone number
  3. Enter your temporary password, 1111
  4. Listen to the New Subscriber Tutorial, an automated lesson in setting up your mailbox

If you have forgotten your voicemail password, you can reset it by logging into or creating your My Cincinnati Bell account here. Once signed in, scroll to the correct phone line. Below the "Manage" heading you will see the option to change your voicemail password. Clicking this will bring you to a confirmation screen. Click “Reset Password” in the bottom, right corner of the screen to continue.

Someone in your household may have changed it. Ask the members of your household if that is the case. If not, call the Help Desk at 513-565-2210 to have your password reset.

Once you erase a message and hang up there is no way to retrieve the message. However, if you have pressed and erased a message by mistake, remain on the line connected to Voice Mail. Replay the message and press to save it.

You can fix this problem in one of two ways: (1) leave a message in your voicemail box, then erase it, or (2) hang up your phone, then lift the receiver and dial *967, then hang up.

You may order a service called a "busy mailbox" for your Distinctive Ring number. This service plays a busy signal for calls coming into the Distinctive Ring number when the line is busy.
