Holly Hill Children’s services is a partner of the United Way. Our project focused on the Girl’s orphanage. There was a large dead tree in an area void of landscaping in front of their offices. A design and a plan was put together to provide an outdoor gathering place for the Children and the staff that works with them. We were able to work with Landscape material suppliers to get over $3,000 worth of material donated. Holly Hill’s board also approved some material funds for the project. All in all, Holly Hill received a $20,000 landscape facelift to their main building, including an awesome outdoor gathering place, for less than $4,000.  Leading up to Friday, October 27th, there were a few Cincinnati Bell team members who spent some time getting things prepped so that the big day could go smoothly. There were close to 50 Field Ops employees (and a few supporting friends) who showed up for the big project. Each volunteer was assigned to a specific team lead by a Cincinnati Bell team member (team green thumb, team pavers, team topsoil, team rock treads, etc). When the sun came up that morning, there was over 70  tons of landscape stone, pavers, river rock, topsoil, mulch and trees/plants to be moved or installed. The group worked as a well-oiled machine to finish the whole project by 2:00 that afternoon. All in there should be 400-500 volunteer hours from the Holly Hill event, and there will be a quality video available soon with great before and after shots.
